The Importance of Selfish Time For Women

Household chores, careers, and caring for a spouse and children, where is the time to really take care of yourself? I have heard countless stories of women who have let themselves go and have lost themselves because they are so unselfish. It is very common to become so involved in giving to others that we fail to give to ourselves. Selfish care is so important to our emotional, physical and mental well-being, and we can't ignore it. It is time for the busy woman to realize that she can care for others and take good care of herself as well.

Three common pitfalls

"I don't have time for myself." This is the oldest excuse in the book. Don't fall into the trap of believing that there is no way to give yourself undivided time. You do have time; trust me.

"I feel guilty just taking time for myself." This is a common feeling. Just the fact that you have this thought is a sure sign that you are a giving and caring person. Your loved ones have benefited from your dedication. It is time for you to benefit from attention given to yourself. You can actually give more to others if you are at your best.

"I don't deserve self indulgence." Think of the minutes, hours, days, years, weeks, and years that you dedicate to doing things for other people. As long as the amount of giving to others is more than the amount of time spent on yourself, you have every right to treat yourself.

Solutions for the excuses

Make time for yourself. You need to give yourself time alone to focus yourself. This doesn't have to be 2 hours a day. All you need is about 15-30 minutes of undisturbed time. You may only do this one every other day or so. It doesn't have to be the same time everyday. It may also be possible to have an extended 'me time' once a week (possibly for an hour or more). Make it often enough that have this special time before you burn out or become super-stressed.

Sometimes you will need to say no to people
. It's okay to do that. There is only so much time in a single day. It is important that you use it wisely. Prioritize, and learn to say no to the things that you just can't do. Reduce the extra favors on your to do list. You are not a favor machine, you can say no.

Forget the guilt. Like I mentioned earlier, you can actually give more to others if you are at your best. Consider 'me time' as the charging of your batteries. You will have more to give if you are whole in yourself. If you feel better, others around you will also feel better. If you don't take care of yourself, you will eventually suffer, and so will the other people that you want to take good care of.

You do deserve it. Taking time for yourself does not mean that you think you are the most important person in the world. It does mean, however, that you are important. You don't have to put yourself at the top of your list, just don't put yourself on the bottom. If everyone else around you is worthy of care and attention, then so are you. You not only deserve this time, but you need it for your own well-being.

What to do for yourself

Physical rejuvenation
. There are several ways to rejuvenate the body. Exercise that involves stretching and focused breathing can truly refresh you. Moderate exercise has proven to improve mood and overall health. After a long hard day, there is also nothing like a nice hot bubble bath. There is also nothing wrong with taking your personal time to nap.

Beauty treatment. Make an appointment with the beauty salon. You can get your hair and nails done. You can also book a spa massage. If money is tight, you can always try your own new look, paint your own nails, or just spend a little extra time making yourself look better than you normally do. Looking your best will help you to feel your best.

Listen to music. Put on your favorite music and just tune out everything else. Forget what you have just done and what you will do later. Enjoy the moment and relax.

Have a quiet time. Peace and quiet is sometimes all we need. Just clear your head or think about the things that you have been meaning to think about. You can journal your thoughts or prayers, or you can read. There is nothing like a good book. Reading a novel, short story, poetry or the Bible can be interesting, soothing, and enlightening.

Pray. Taking time to connect with God is a very needed experience. He cares about everything we care about. It is a great time to connect with your spirit and take a bird's-eye view of your life.

When 90% of the hair on your scalp is in this growth phase, the remaining 10% is in the resting phase which falls off. This hairfall phase could last for about 3 to 4 months simultaneously. Therefore, it is absolutely normal to lose some amount of hair during this phase. However, if you are losing excessive hair for a continuous period of 4 to 5 months daily, you need to consider hair loss treatments. Hair loss is something that all of us experience and there can be various reasons such as, hormonal problems, genetics, inappropriate diet and lifestyle, medical treatments or aging. Our diet is the only way our body can receive all the required nutrients. Thus, consuming foods that are rich in the 5 main nutrients such as; vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and fats is very essential for a healthy body. All these nutrients have their own significance in the metabolism, thus should be present in substantial amounts in the body. Just the way our body needs nourishment, our hair also needs nourishment for better growth and health. Hair growth requires proteins, vitamins (A, B, C, D, E) and minerals (iron, zinc, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium) in adequate amounts to give stronger and healthier results. Eat Your Greens
Known to be the best sources of vitamins A and C are green and dark green vegetables, such as; spinach, broccoli, Swiss chard, etc. The vitamins A and C are extremely important for hair regrowth, as they help in producing a waxy material, sebum, which is produced by the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles. It acts as a natural conditioner to your hair and is a great stimulant for hair growth.

Crunch Away
There are various nuts which are used as foods that help regrow hair, because of the presence of useful vitamins and minerals in them. Almonds, are the richest sources of vitamin E and iron which are two important nutrients that stimulate hair growth. Iron helps produce more blood in your body and vitamin E helps in blood circulation, thus nourishing the cells in your scalp. Other nuts such as; Brazil nuts and walnuts, are good sources of selenium, omega-3 fatty acids and alpha-linolenic acids, which also help in hair growth. Cashews and pecans are high in zinc, which helps in protein synthesis and absorption of vitamins.

For those who love to eat seafood and fish, you can have very healthy hair growth. This is because you will find salmon to be an extremely rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, hair proteins, and vitamin B12. These nutrients provide nourishment to the cells and roots of the hair, thus providing strong and healthy hair strands. Other fish such as; mackerel, catfish, sardines, herring and tuna are rich in vitamin D, that reduces hair loss through its conditioning properties. Oysters and shells are excellent sources of the antioxidant, zinc.

Hair Needs Proteins
Meat such as beef and turkey, poultry such as chicken and eggs, are great sources of vitamin B and proteins. These foods for healthy hair include vitamin B12 that enhances the production of red blood cells, and improves blood circulation in the scalp, nourishing the cells. These are also good sources of zinc, proving absorption of other required vitamins and nourishing the scalp.

Lactose Helps
Consuming dairy foods like cow's milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, butter, etc., could provide you with calcium, proteins like whey and casein, and vitamin B. These nutrients are essential for building the hair follicles and strengthening the roots of the hair. This is will reduce hair loss and make the existing hair healthy and strong. They are also sources of biotin and pantothenic acid, two important factors in hair growth.

Other Foods

A few other foods that help regrow hair are whole grains such as wheat and oats. Whole wheat consists of silica and iron, both help in absorption of important vitamins and minerals. Whereas, oats are rich in other minerals like potassium, magnesium and phosphorous. Citric acid fruits like oranges, grapes, lemons, etc., provide vitamin C that helps in the formation of collagen, a vital protein needed for hair growth. Healthy heart for women health

health for womenWomen should be very conscious about their health. Men and women both can have the same diseases. But women should be extra careful about these issues. Sometimes the symptoms are not the same for men and women for a similar disease. But in most cases it has been seen that women suffer from diabetes and depression along with most dangerous cancers. So women of all ages should be careful because they have to take care of their child also. The life of a woman is not that easy. Often they are seen to suffer from breast cancers. They face problem at the time of breast feeding. In the menopause period they can develop some disease also. Sometimes they also suffer from cervical cancers. Sometimes they have to take birth control pills. These may also cause harm to their health.

In modern world we see that the risk of strokes and heart attacks among the women is increasing. Once it was seen in the statistics that men are more vulnerable to heart disease than women. But today the rate of attack is almost the same. In USA the main cause for women death is marked. And it is the cardiovascular diseases (CVD).  Women of all ages should be careful about CVDs as it can attack women of any age at any time. The rate of strokes is on the rise and it is very threatening.

The use of contraceptives is very much risky. These can cause blood clotting and can lead women to death. So awareness is necessary when applying these medicines.

The symptoms of heart attack for women may occur in a different manner than men. It is not obvious that they should feel the intense chest pain. There may be some other symptoms like back pain. They may also develop a flue like disease. So for their own sake they should act aggressively against diseases.

So for all types of diseases women should prepare themselves. They should emphasize on healthy eating and exercising. It is always seen that OCD (Obsessive compulsivedisorders) are harming women a great deal. Obesity and other obsession is always seen among them. These can affect their heart also by increasing the level of bad cholesterol. Health consciousness among the women in very necessary.

How to Get Back in Shape After Having a Baby

Okay, if you are one of those women who only gained 15 pounds went you got pregnant, and then this isn't for you. See, I've been in pretty darn good shape my whole life - never overweight, worked out regularly and ate healthy. But damn! When I got pregnant I stayed on the regular exercise and healthy eating and still gained FIFTY POUNDS!!! I was shocked. I didn't feel fat, just pregnant. And I felt pretty darn sexy and womanly. And I thought for sure I would leave all that weight at the hospital. But I didn't. So here's some of what I learned about taking it off.

Things You’ll Need:
Patience
Self-discipline
Hope

Step1
Let your body heal. Whether a vaginal or c-section birth, your body needs to recuperate. This can be a heartbreaking time because you are really seeing your body for the first time without this awesome belly, and realizing UH OH, it is pretty far off from what you started from. That's okay. Give yourself time to heal and get into the rhythm of your baby.
Step2
Figure out the logistics of exercise. Everyone is different - you are staying at home, you are back at work, you have multiple kids. For each person, there is a plan. Trust me. It is just a matter of figuring out what works for you. A treadmill, a used jogging stroller, an old workout DVD.
Step3
Just 30 minutes. If you can give that to yourself everyday, that would be ideal. If you try for it everyday and wind up with 3-4 times a week, that's good. Finding time for you can feel impossible, but I promise, it's not. I come home from work and take my daughter for a walk for 20-30 minutes. It is my time to come down from the work day.
Sometimes my husband will watch her in the morning so I exercise. I know you are exhausted. But here is the secret - exercising every day actually gives you more energy. Try it. You can live better on the 4-6 hours of sleep you are getting every night and the 10-12 hours your are working every day as a full time mom or working outside the home.
Step4
Take time to tone too. Burning off the fat is made all the easier by building muscle mass. And as much as we all wish we had the personal trainers and nannies of the Caleb moms, most of us don't. So to keep it simple. Start with 25 push ups and sit ups. Then tack on 5-10 more a week and work your way up to 100. If you can actually break away and take a yoga or toning class, the entire better.
Step5
Watch your eating. When you are pregnant, you are encouraged to indulge, and most of us do. But the good thing about eating during pregnancy is that you learn more about nutrition than ever before because you become hyper-aware of what you are putting into your body. Keep up this practice, because now you need to take care of you for YOU. Continuing to eat healthy, fresh foods without hydrogenated soybeans or refined sugar is great. Just cut the portions in HALF so you can ultimately burn more calories than you eat...the only sure-fire way to lose weight.
Step6
Give yourself time. Your body isn't going to look just like it did before you got pregnant right away. I've still got that last damn five pounds and my daughter is almost a year old. But I'm active, I'm healthy and I know I'll get there. You will too.

Early Signs of Pregnancy

Early Signs of Pregnancy | Many women believe pregnancy signs seen only from the standpoint that they believe to be classical, ie late menstruation.

Early signs of pregnancy | It's true, one of the signs of pregnancy is usually delayed menstruation regularly every month. But should also note that the missed period / menstruation is not just caused by pregnancy alone. Many factors, eg diet, stress, fatigue, and hormonal disruption. Order we are not wrong in guess, so it's good, for women to recognize the early signs of pregnancy:

1. Signs of pregnancy: changes in the breast
If someone is pregnant, there will be changes in her breasts, the breast will enlarge. This was caused by increased production of hormones estrogen and progesterone in the body. In addition to these changes also feel softer breasts. This raises a more sensitive taste in women, so that your breasts will feel sore or painful when held. The nipple is also enlarged, and the color will get darker, sometimes itchy. Veins in the breast will also be visible due to tension in the breast. In addition, hormonal activity occurs HPL (Human Placental Lactogen). The hormone is produced by the body when become pregnant , to prepare breast milk for your baby when born into the world.

Signs of Pregnancy: The blood emergence, followed by stomach cramps
Blood spots usually appear before the next menstruation, usually occurring between 8-10 days after ovulation. Blood spots is caused by implantation (implantation bleeding) or attachment of the embryo to the uterine wall. The emergence of spotting during pregnancy is sometimes mischaracterized as menstruation.
In addition, pregnant women are also usually frequent stomach cramps. Stomach cramps on the condition of pregnancy will occur on a regular basis. And abdominal cramps in this condition, will continue until the second trimester of pregnancy. Until the uterus lies at the center position and is supported by the pelvis.
Early Signs of Pregnancy: Nausea and vomiting (Morning sicknes)
Nearly 50% of women become pregnant will have these signs are: nausea and vomiting. The cause is increasing the sudden hormone in the bloodstream. The hormone is HCG (Human chorionic gonadotrophin).

In addition to the blood, these hormones increase also occurred in the urinary tract. Thus the tool pack test/pregnancy test done through the medium of urine. This is done to measure the occurrence of elevated levels of the hormone HCG. The increase of this hormone will cause grievous effects on the stomach lining and cause nausea.

Nausea was generally goes away by itself when it entered the second trimester of pregnancy. If, nausea and vomiting still occurs in the second trimester of pregnancy, then there is a good idea to consult a doctor immediately to the nearest.

2. Early Signs of Pregnancy: Frequent urination
In some cases, many are having "frequent urination". This is due to the growing fetus in the uterus pressure on your bladder, and as a result of increased blood circulation. Besides bladder filled with urine more quickly, and the desire to urinate more frequently. Increased sense of urination is also caused by increased hormones of pregnancy. Although urination is frequent, not to restrict or restrain it. In addition, avoid dehydration by increasing fluid intake over the body.

Early Signs of Pregnancy: Dizziness and headache (Headaches)
Dizziness problems in pregnant women, generally caused by: fatigue, nausea, hunger and blood pressure, low. While that is the cause of emotional tension and depression are also hormonal influences. Besides increasing the blood supply to the body that are less well cause dizziness when changing positions or moving.

3. Pregnancy Signs: Frequent spitting (hypersalivation)
Signs of pregnancy is due to the influence of hormonal changes in estrogen, usually occurs in the first trimester of pregnancy. This condition will disappear by itself also disappeared after the second trimester of pregnancy.

4. Pregnancy signs: basal body temperature rise
If pregnancy or ovulation, then the basal body temperature will increase. This condition will persist during the pregnancy. This condition will not go down to the condition prior to ovulation.

5. Early Signs of Pregnancy: Fatigue and excessive sleepiness
Not infrequently, pregnant women are often sleepy, this was due to changes in hormonal changes. This was due to the performance of several vital organs such as kidneys, heart, and lungs, is increasing. These vital organs are not only working to meet the needs of the mother alone, but also for fetal growth and development. Mother's abdomen is getting bigger, along with increasing gestational age, also a burden for the mother's body.

How Make Your Breasts Bigger Naturally ?

There are many ways that you can do to make your breasts bigger without having to undergo a surgery or other expensive procedure. Listed below are some of the most effective natural methods to help you increase your breast size in a healthy way and without spending a dime.

Tip #1: Eat fresh fruits and vegetables Nothing is more natural and healthier than eating fresh fruits and vegetables. A nice fruit or vegetable salad will help you gain the right amount of healthy fat to improve the size of your breasts. Some fruits and vegetables that will improve your breast size include avocado, dill, black olives, strawberries, and blueberries.

Tip #2: Massage your breasts Many women do not believe in the miracle in massaging their breasts. They don't know that massaging your breasts releases hormones that will naturally grow your breasts. Try massaging your breasts every night. You can also use massage oils to help increase the stimulation to release the hormones.

Tip #3: Do some chest exercises Push-ups and jumping jacks are great exercises that you can do to help you increase your breast size. Try doing these exercises at least 5 minutes a day and you'll see results after a few weeks. You can also do sit-ups with feet up in the air to help tone your chest muscles and abs as well.

Tip #4: Avoid anything with caffeine Caffeine prevents the growth of your breasts because of its diuretic nature (releases fluid inside the body). Try to avoid or, at least, minimize your intake of caffeine. If you can't avoid caffeinated products, try to drink water to compensate for the ones you lost.

Tip #5: Reduce your stress Stress affects your whole body negatively. It can cause hormonal imbalance that will inhibit your body to function properly. This also affects the growth of your breasts as hormones play a big part in the development of your breast. To get rid of stress, try to exercise more. You can walk around the block several times, do some shopping or house chores. Growing your breasts naturally is really possible as long as you follow your routine faithfully. Sure, surgery delivers faster results but, at the end of the day, it is still your health that matters not your breast size. If you are considering surgery, you should at least try these alternatives first. Good luck, stay beautiful and healthy.

Danger of Trans Fat for Women

Danger of Trans Fat for Women - One more reason why you should avoid foods that contain a high trans fat, especially if you are a woman and older in age. Recent studies have found that postmenopausal women who frequently eat fast food, baked goods and packaging products, has the potential to suffer stroke by 39 percent.

In his research, scientists from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill also found that women who took aspirin on a regular basis tend to decrease the risk of stroke significantly. But the researchers stressed that the drug does not directly reduce the risk of stroke in women who frequently eat foods high in trans fats.

"This finding does not mean that you can eat trans fats by taking aspirin," said Dr. Ka He, who explained that the study only shows association and not a causal relationship between aspirin use and lower incidence of stroke.

"We recommend that reduce trans fat intake to prevent heart disease and stroke," said Ka He, who is also a professor of nutrition and epidemiology of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.

American Heart Association (AHA) noted, stroke is the fourth leading cause of death and leading cause of disability among adults in the United States. Stroke occurs when an artery carrying blood to the brain is blocked, thus inhibiting the flow of blood and oxygen. As a result, brain cells begin to die. Stroke can affect motor skills, speech, or cognitive function, depending on which part of the brain are damaged.

Factors that can lead to stroke include obesity, smoking, hypertension and lack of exercise. Drinking too much alcohol, or not at all, is also associated with stroke risk.

These findings were published online on March 1, 2012 in the Annals of Neurology. Researchers analyzed data from a national project known as the Women Health Initiative. They monitor the intake of trans fats more than 87,000 women aged 50 to 79 years using dietary database developed at the University of Minnesota and a questionnaire that measures the consumption of trans fats.

Researchers asked about how many of the 122 types of food they consume in the three months before the study was conducted, with follow-up survey after three years later. Medical records are updated every year between 1998 and 2005, and as many as 1049 participants known to have suffered a stroke during that period.

Researchers revealed that trans fats contribute to the emergence of cardiovascular disease - a risk factor for stroke - by raising levels of bad cholesterol and lowers good cholesterol, and possibly the worst impact on the health of all types of fat.

"Trans fats do not occur naturally, but is usually acquired in processed foods as a result of the hydrogenation process of mixing of hydrogen in vegetable oils," explains Nancy Copperman, director of public health initiatives do North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Great Neck, NY

"It is interesting to note that women who consume high trans fats also have an unhealthy lifestyle behaviors such as low physical activity, overeating and smoking," says Copperman, who also added that they also have a higher risk of diabetes.

For this reason, Copperman has appealed to the women run balanced diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle as a major step in preventing stroke.

Dr. Suzanne Steinbaum, women's health expert of heart disease at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York City said that trans fats as "toxic" and is a food that should not be eaten at all.
He also urged consumers to read food labels for trans fats are sometimes included in the low-fat diet.

"Just because it's called a low-fat diet, does not mean that the food is healthy," said Steinbaum.[kompas.com]

Know Female Sex Hormones

Know Female Sex Hormones - The hormone is undoubtedly a big role in our lives. In the female sex hormones work together in an intricate pattern, so that the function of the reproductive cycle running smoothly.

The release of sex hormones affect sexual development and fertility

The main female sex hormones is estrogen and progesterone is produced mainly in the ovaries in the reproductive period. Women in all stages of life, function and production of sex hormones is also varied.

Although the childhood of new active hormones at puberty, actually affects the body's hormones have since in the womb. If we look at, often newborn babies (male or female) have breasts that look great, sometimes followed by the release of a little milk.

This happens because the flow of the hormone estrogen from the mother to the fetus during pregnancy. However, this condition is only temporary and disappear within a few weeks. Although in some infants of women, breast enlargement may still be living up to children aged 2 years to finally completely disappeared.

Puberty. At this age the release of sex hormones will affect sexual development, sexual characteristics, and fertility. Important milestone of puberty in girls is breast budding growth, the emergence of hair in the pubic and armpit, and menstruation. Pubertal process takes approximately 4 years.

During puberty, a girl from the pituitary gland increases the secretion of two key hormones, namely folicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Both types of hormones are essential for the release of eggs and menstruation.

Adulthood. In addition to helping to control ovulation, fertilization, and pregnancy, estrogen maintains bone strength and helps regulate cholesterol. Progesterone works with estrogen to prepare the body of a woman facing conception, pregnancy, and helps regulate the menstrual cycle.

This hormone also plays an important role in the growth and regulate body fat distribution in women so that more fat deposits in the thighs, buttocks, and hips. In the meantime, testosterone helps build muscle and bone.

Pregnancy. If the egg can be fertilized and pregnancy, hormones change dramatically in the body of a woman. Usually decreased levels of estrogen and progesterone that are common at the end of the menstrual cycle does not occur. Instead, a new hormone, human chorionic gonadotrohin (HCG), produced for the development of the placenta, stimulate the ovaries produce more estrogen and progesterone are necessary during pregnancy.

After birth. After birth, levels of estrogen, progesterone and other hormones plummeted, causing physical changes. Uterus will return to its original size before pregnancy, pelvic floor muscles increases, and the volume of blood circulation back to normal. This dramatic hormonal changes often lead to postpartum depression.

Menopause. Other significant hormonal changes that occur when women enter menopause. In the 3-5 years before the end of the menstrual cycle, normal ovarian function begins to decline. This makes the menstrual cycle shorter or longer. Sometimes the ovaries produce less estrogen so it does not thicken the uterine lining does not occur until the end of menstruation.

Overall survival in women, estrogen helps protect the heart and bones, as well as keeping the breast, uterus, and vagina in a healthy condition. That is why, the decline in estrogen levels during and after menopause can affect health, but also trigger the uncomfortable symptoms.

Loss of estrogen causes a large number of women at higher risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. Another problem is the vagina to become dry and uncomfortable during intercourse.

3 Important Hormones for Women

3 Important Hormones for Women - The scientists discovered at least 50 different types of hormones that wandering in our bloodstream. However, all three(3) of these hormones are very important role for women.

A. Estrogen

Estrogen hormone is a diva in women. Estrogen reaches its peak at puberty and gradually decreased until finally exhausted and women entering the menopause period. In addition to regulating the menstrual cycle, hormonal fluctuations are also often lead to premenstrual syndrome.

Excessive estrogen levels can lead to various diseases, such as endometriosis or breast cancer. But too little estrogen can also cause abnormalities of the ovaries.

2. Progesterone

Progesterone is a balancing estrogen. When estrogen is enlarging, progesterone vice versa. So if estrogen causes fluid retention, then the progesterone helps the body remove excess fluid.

Are both produced in the ovaries, progesterone and estrogen work together to prepare a woman's body deal with conception, pregnancy, and help regulate menstrual cycles. When progesterone production is no longer able to balance estrogen in the premenopuase, usually a woman will experience insomnia or anxiety.

3. Testosterone

Testosterone hormone is synonymous with men, but these hormones are also present in a woman's body even though the levels are small. Produced by the adrenal glands and ovaries, women's testosterone levels rise and fall of each month according to the menstrual cycle. Function of this hormone is to increase energy, mental acuity, and libido. If testosterone fell, demkian also the case with sexual arousal.

Beauty Treatments During Pregnancy

It is a well-known fact that a pregnant woman's body undergoes many alterations, owing to hormonal changes. Are you pregnant, and have started noticing changes? Your skin has turned ever so sensitive, acne has suddenly become severe, there are more freckles on your face, your skin tone has darkened, your hair may have turned dry or frizzy. And finally, one good change - there seems to be a glow on your face! All these changes are normal during pregnancy, and go away after the baby arrives. As far as the safety of beauty treatments during pregnancy is concerned, not all procedures are believed to be safe, and some treatments should be avoided by the pregnant mother.

Various Beauty Treatments During Pregnancy

Body Massage
Massage has a soothing effect on the body and is totally safe for pregnant women. To be on the safer side, massage should be avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy; many massage centers don't offer massage services when a woman is in the first trimester of her pregnancy. On and all, special massage packs are available for pregnant women and you should consult a therapist to determine the best massage routine for you.

Tip: Massage can be a boon for pregnant women, as it actually relieves the body of unnecessary tension and prepares it for future stress and strain. So consult the best masseuse, discuss with him/her all your apprehensions before taking a massage.

Manicure and Pedicure
Some pregnant women experience that their nails grow faster than usual, this is observed because of the hormonal changes and other body changes, like increase in the mineral and vitamin concentration of the body. Manicure and pedicure treatments come in handy, and they are safe too. The chemicals in nail polish can cause some harm, especially formaldehyde and toluene in the nail polish. It is best if you use nail polish that contains the least amount of chemicals.

Tip: Make sure the room is well ventilated, as the fumes and chemicals can be harmful. Massaging the ankle and heel area should be avoided, as contractions can be triggered from these points.

Tanning
Women, no matter what age, whether pregnant or not, love tanning. But is tanning safe during pregnancy? The safety of tanning depends on what medium you are using. Tanning beds should be avoided during pregnancy, also tanning in the sun is something you should not prefer doing. This is because, exposing skin to UV rays can be unsafe for the already sensitive skin. Exposing the skin to UV rays increases the chances of developing chloasma, that is, sun blotches on the skin.

Tip: Any activity that considerably raises the temperature of the body should be avoided. This includes avoiding tanning beds, steam rooms, hot tubs, jacuzzis, and sauna treatments. A good remedy is using tanning lotions, but only if you are desperate for a tan. A good quality tan lotion is safe, and does no harm to the skin. On a final note, it is advisable to stay away from tanning during pregnancy.

Hair Treatments
So, what about the safety of hair treatments during pregnancy? Your hair might look dry and dull and you would be tempted to go treatments like curling, perming, dyeing or hair relaxing. A majority of these treatments involve the use of chemicals and harmful products to be avoided during pregnancy; chemicals can enter the blood stream through the scalp and create problems, in rare cases. Though the chemicals do not harm the baby or the mother, there is no guarantee on the safety of these hair procedures during pregnancy.

Tip: It is best not to take risks and avoid hair dyeing procedures. A better option is using hair coloring sprays, as they do not enter the skin and work on the surface. Any hair procedure that uses chemicals should be avoided during the first three months.

Botox
During pregnancy there are some procedures that should be avoided altogether. Though there is no concrete evidence to confirm the harmfulness of using botox during pregnancy, it is a general opinion that this procedure should be avoided during the entire nine months. In fact, any beauty procedure that uses syringes or injections should be avoided during pregnancy. It is due to the same reason, the injected matter enters the blood stream and can harm the baby.

Hair Removal Procedures
Electrolysis is a popular method that uses electric currents to remove hair from the body. There is no conclusive evidence to determine if electric currents are harmful for pregnant women and the fetus. So, it is advised that pregnant women should stay away from this procedure. If undertaken, certain precautions should be followed, like you should not carry out electrolysis on the bikini area, abdomen and breasts. The best option is to avoid electrolysis completely during the pregnancy. If you do wish to get rid of unwanted hair, you should consult a registered electrologist. Some pregnant women tend to be sensitive to waxing due to the pain accompanying it. Pregnant women should thus consult a doctor before waxing, as sometimes it may not suit the skin. Similar can be said for hair removal creams (that contain chemicals) and depilatories. Shaving off the hair is a good option for pregnant ladies.

Aromatherapy
The use of oils for body rejuvenation is called aromatherapy. Researchers have still not arrived on a general consensus to confirm the safety of use of certain oils during pregnancy. Some oils should be avoided during pregnancy. A pregnant woman can also develop sensitivity to some oils, and experience nausea on smelling some oils.

Tip: Aromatherapy is, as such, safe during pregnancy, and it all depends on the oils being used in the process. So, consult the best aromatherapist for a safe therapy during pregnancy.

So, these were some of the common beauty procedures during which you should be a little careful. Apart from these, your daily beauty regimen can be carried out as usual, with no harm coming from it. For complex beauty treatments, it would be best if you consulted an expert. Have a happy and safe pregnancy.

Sick of Dieting? Try a New Healthy Approach to Loosing Weight the Healthy Way

So many people these days struggle with the fact that they are unable to realize the level of weight loss they are looking for. They have tried what they believe is everything possible and still they are not finding the results they know they need to be happy. Many times, this is due to the fact that they have been given such a barrage of advice, tips and tactics that it becomes quite hard to discern the true course to weight loss from the huge number of pie in the sky ideas that might work for one person but will not work for another person.
This is not their fault, because as long as they maintain focus on their goal then they continue to deserve to achieve it. The trick is, finding the right solution that is going to work for the individual and in order to do that, we have got to take a look at the lowest common denominator.
First, it is helpful to know that in the western world there are very few people who are getting the level of something crucial you have probably heard about: Omega 3 fatty acid. Ironically enough, this is a crucial component in the body's proper function that affect a huge number of different areas of our health and therefore our body's ability to do all the things it is capable of doing to help us lose weight naturally. When we do not have our body fine tuned then we are not going to be able to move very efficiently.

Omega Daily is a blend that can help reduce the pain of joint movement that so many of us experience today and by doing that one thing alone, the product will be able to expand our capacity for exercise. When we do this, along with the boost to our metabolism that Omega Daily provides us with, we raise our ability to burn calories. This is, in essence the very core of weight loss - building the right amount of muscle.

When we have a body that is functioning at a peak level, it is going to burn fat without us having to struggle. This is because the muscle mass we have built up will feed on the calories and fat in the foods we eat long before it has a chance to settle around our stomach, buttocks or other unsightly areas of the body. This is why most diets will quit working the moment any sort of interruption knocks us out of the dietary pattern.

With a supplement such as Omega Daily, it is much easier to stay on track and get our weight where we want it to be without sacrificing our quality of life in the mean time and without the need for either a massive dietary shift or a huge increase in our exercise. It is no surprise that this Miracle from the Sea helps us flow better and be in better harmony with our own inner systems that nature provides us with. By leveraging this kind of natural remedy, we are going to see results that last.

How to Maintain Healthy Skin

Your skin; it covers you, you wash it and ,sometimes, it can be one of the most attractive parts of your body. You want to keep your skin looking its best don't you? Reading this article will teach you how to maintain good skin health.

    • Avoid smoking. Smoking has a lot of negative health effects on the body, including heart disease and lung cancer among many. However, what most people may not know is that the nicotine in cigarette smoke can cause skin discoloration and, in some cases, acne. In order to maintain good skin health, quit smoking.
        • Consider vitamins A and E. As humans get older, skin begins to lose its firmness because the skin cells, collagen and elastin begin to breakdown, resulting in wrinkles and other skin deteriorations. Taking a vitamin A or E supplement (such as one that contains collagen and elastin) can help protect against this deterioration. Vitamins A or E along with a few other natural minerals have been proven to strengthen the cells of the skin, thus improving the overall appearance of your skin. However, you should never consume dietary supplements before consulting your doctor, especially if you are taking other medications.
            • Avoid the use of oil-based substances on the skin. Oil-based substances clog pores and cause acne. Acne can cause ugly scars, thus taking away from overall skin appearance. When using beauty creams, shop for ones that have no oil and also consider looking at ones that have low or no fragrance to them. If you need further assistance on choosing skin care products, ask your dermatologist for help.

Cure for Skin Rashes and Itching

Common rashes are often called dermatitis, meaning inflammation of the skin; they involve changes in the color or texture of the skin including skin redness or inflammation. Common rashes are also known as skin lesions, Rubor and Erythema.

Skin reactions are more common today due to many new fabrics in use. Some of the body rashes affect the whole body (termed as a generalized), where as others appear on discrete areas of the skin. Skin rashes can be self limiting or require medications. Babies often develop skin rashes because of irritation from the coloring materials in these fabrics. Skin or the body rash is a common term that describes a group of special spots, an area of inflammation or altered color or texture of the skin. Skin rashes might be associated with various other symptoms such as itching, tingling, burning, pain, inflammation and sometimes, surprisingly with no discomfort at all. Belladonna remedy is useful for conditions with sudden onset that are hot, bright red, and throbbing. Rash may be accompanied by fever.

              Oatmeal bath is preferred

Applying olive oil to the rash could provide some relief.

Aloe Vera gel, cod liver oil and Vitamin E oil are also helpful in combating body rash.

Using baking powder on the affected area is another suggestion to deal with body and back rash.

Aloe Vera: Widely known for treating burns and sunburns, aloe vera also helps in healing wounds and minor skin irritations such as itchiness and rashes. This plant produces anti inflammatory, anti bacterial, and anti fungal properties. It also contains folic acid, zinc, and vitamins C and E.
Chamomile Essential Oil: Has anti inflammatory (anti-microbial) properties that soothes and eliminates an itchy skin rash and irritations. Chamomile is also used in treating eczema, psoriasis, and sunburn. Please be aware, people who are normally allergic to grass and ragweed may acquire an allergic reaction to chamomile.

Witch hazel: Acts as an astringent that relieves itching and minor skin inflammation. Also used for treating sunburns. For maximum benefit, use fresh witch hazel bark. Simmer one ounce of the bark with one pint of water and leave for ten minutes. Strain and cool. Apply with a clean cloth and leave it on for about thirty minutes.

There are natural alternatives to cortisone cream treatment for rashes. For example Eczema is often treated with cortisone cream to combat the itching. There is, unfortunately, no known cure for Eczema, but natural medicines can help reduce the symptoms of Eczema without the harmful side effects associated with cortisones and other pharmaceutical medications.

There are many treatment of skin Rashes. Cortisone is often used to decrease local inflammation, swelling, burning and itching often associated with common rashes. Many natural remedy creams that provide instant and long-term relief rashes. The best home remedy for body rashes is to apply olive oil on the rash affected area. Belladonna remedy is useful for conditions with sudden onset that are hot, bright red, and throbbing. Rash may be accompanied by fever. Ledum palustre remedy is indicated for a puffy and swollen rash. Both the swelling and the itching are relieved by cold applications.

Itch relief is important, because scratching can itself irritate the skin and lead to more itching, creating an itching-scratching-itching cycle. Fingernails should be kept short to minimize abrasions from scratching. Applying eucalyptus oil on the skin can be helpful or take a cotton ball or Q-Tip and apply Tea Tree Oil full strength to area that is itching.

Symptoms of Bladder Infection in Women

The result of the inflammation or infection of the bladder, bladder infections or cystitis is one of the most common health problems affecting women today and accounts for nearly 6 million medical visits each year, by both men and women. Commonly referred to as the urinary tract infection (UTI), the major cause of the infection is the growth of bacteria in the bladder, which enters through the urethra. It is estimated by the National Kidney Foundation that nearly 10 to 20 percent of women have had at least one episode of cystitis, with 80% of the cases having recurring episodes of the infection. While some may be caused by fungus or virus, the major cause of bladder infections is the bacterial growth. The growth of the escherichia coli (E.coli) bacteria and others such as staphylococcus saprophyticus, klebsiella, enterobacter, and proteus species, are the contributing causes for bladder infections. So why are some women more prone to the infection than others? The causes are numerous, from an increased sexual activity to poor hygiene habits. The risk increases with infections in the genitourinary system, stress, excess alcohol consumption or an illness which results in lowered resistance. Another possible cause is the use of a diaphragm that uses spermicide, for it suppresses the normal vaginal bacteria and allows bacteria that cause cystitis to flourish in the vagina. Here is a look at the primary symptoms of bladder infection in women and their severity.

              Female Bladder Infection Symptoms

The most common signs of the onset of bladder infection is the frequent, urgent and painful urination. This is accompanied by a pain in the abdomen, over the bladder and lower back. The other telltale bladder infection symptoms of the infection are:

                  Blood in the urine.
                  Low fever.
                  Foul-smelling urine.
                  Painful sexual intercourse.
Lack of urinary control, especially at night.
Bed-wetting or fever and irritability in a child.

The symptoms may range from mild to severe, with most of the symptoms of cystitis disappearing without treatment. However in a case where the infection spreads upward into the kidneys, symptoms such as intense back pain, chills, nausea, high fever and diarrhea are produced. Similarly for people with a bladder malfunction due to nerve damage, no symptoms of the infection are produced until a kidney infection or an unexplained fever develops.

Based on the symptoms and the patient's medical history, the doctor may diagnose a bladder infection. Usually a physical examination is done and a mid-stream urine specimen is collected to identify the evidence of inflammation, and the type of bacteria causing the infection. Although a majority of the mild cases are resolved without treatment, antibiotics may be prescribed to hasten the process. To relieve the pain, medications such as antispasmodics or urinary analgesics may be prescribed. The doctor might also advise an increase in the fluid intake, especially cranberry juice, which has shown to help prevent the infection. Avoid caffeine and alcohol and instead, drink 6 to 8 glasses of water. You can also incorporate other preventive measures, like keeping the vaginal area clean and wearing cotton undergarments, which allow for air circulation and discourage the warm, moist environment needed for bacterial growth. It is important that adequate treatment is received, as soon as the symptoms of bladder infection in women have manifested themselves. This would allow you to avoid causing chronic tract infections, which can even lead to a kidney failure.

              What is Menopause?

The time in a woman’s life when the ovaries become less responsive to the pituitary glands and the egg-producing cells begin to disappear. The menopause, often called the change of life, or the climacteric, is a rarely for the worse, and for many women it is for the better, because once complete, fears of pregnancy are removed.

The change may begins at any time between the late 30s and late 50s, but for most women the transition occurs during the 40s. The changes are not abrupt and often the gradual lessening of menstrual and ovarian activity lasts for several years.
Less than a quarter of all women going through the menopause have symptoms that are upsetting enough to need medial help. The main symptom for which help is sought is the hot flush, which accounts for 70 percent of visits to the doctor. This is followed by depression (40 percent), sweating (30 percent), abnormal periods (25 percent). Fatigue (20 percent), hair and skin changes (15 percent), and headache (10 percent). There are, for most women, some psychological adjustments to be made and those need to understood.

The implications of the changes may be disturbing to a woman’s self confidence and are often associated with other symptoms of ANXIETY, which are natural, but unfounded. For instance, there is no evidence that woman age more quickly or becomes less attractive after the change. Surveys suggest that in at least 80 percent of women, sexual responsiveness is either increased or remains unchanged. Sexual relations should be continued until the change is complete, you should ask your doctor.
Several other factors may arise at the time in a woman’s life, which are largely coincidental. Her children may be leaving home, making the woman’s life boring and empty. The increasing and frustrating demands of ageing parents may prevent the woman from countering her symptoms through outside interest or a job. The relationship with her husband may be under a strain for other reasons.

Menopause is the cessation of menstruation and usually occurs in women aged 45-55. Symptoms, which include hot flashes, sweats, vaginal dryness, and anxiety, can be especially severe if menstruation stops abruptly, either naturally or following the removal of the ovaries. Candidiasis if the discharge does not clear up within 5 days, see a doctor.

Menstruation see a doctor if there is a sudden, unusual change in menstrual flow or if menstruation stops and does not restart after 2 months. If you might be pregnant, bleed more than usual, or have severe pain, see a doctor.

Menopause if there is prolonged or irregular bleeding, see a doctor.
